    1. Rationalist: The way I read it the answer is 'yes'. The Vatican would state that the Iraq war was indeed an 'unjust' war. IMHO, I would agree (my buddy's argument notwithstanding - sorry George.)

    2. Even though I've left the Church, I still am proud that The Catholic Church on the question of life offers a consistent stand. Let's hope the current pope can place more emphasis on the importance of life in matters of war. He's unpopular enough with some of the conservative elements, standing up against unjust wars isn't going to lose any more allies.
