Abortion was only ever legal in Chile under limited circumstances and not widely available, for a very short period of time. It will, however be legalized in Chile soon. Most women desire this to be so, even though the fascist and genocide supporting Catholic Church of the Pinochet dictatorship are still broadly powerful and enjoy generous state support and privilege.
